Leadership

Leadership is enormously needed nowadays, particularly for young people. This entry provides an overview of leadership in adolescents, highlights some key developments of the past decades, and raises several unresolved questions that need further input from the practitioners and researchers in the field. The common thread throughout the key theories summarized in this entry is that adolescent leadership is not only about individual attributes or competence but also a continuous process that involves collaboration and value‐driven aspiration and that occurs through meaningful interaction with others and the learning process.
