Data Generation for Power Systems Simulation Based on GIS and Auxiliary Information Fusion

Data for power systems simulation is the foundation of the study of the macro characteristics of power energy systems. However, acquiring such data is challenging because they are confidential information held by power companies. Therefore, generation data for actual power system simulation based on publicly available information has gradually become crucial for regional energy system planning, prospective forecasting, and pattern analysis. To address these issue, this paper proposes a data generation method based on GIS and auxiliary information fusion, which utilizes the information of geographic interconnection systems, load-source statistics, and industry design specifications that are released by governments, enterprises, or industry associations. Firstly, the primary framework of data generation is presented; secondly, techniques includes geographic information extraction, fusion of GIS and auxiliary information, topology identification, components' electrical parameter calculation and location of power sources and loads are introduced; Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by taking the data generation of a regional power grid as an example.
