Identifying mechanisms of therapeutic resistance in low-grade serous ovarian cancer

Low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC) shows frequent genetic alterations in the MAPK pathway that can be targeted therapeutically. MEK inhibition, particularly with trametinib, has been shown to be effective in patients with recurrent LGSOC. However, these patients eventually develop therapeutic resistance and progress. Our aim was to identify and characterize adaptive mechanisms of trametinib resistance in LGSOC.
