Role of sentinel lymph node evaluation during hysterectomy for pre-operative pathology diagnoses of endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia in a community hospital setting

Occult endometrial cancer (EC) is often encountered with a preoperative diagnosis of endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN). This has been shown to be more frequent in a community hospital setting. We aimed to explore if patient characteristics and keywords on initial pathology within a community hospital setting were associated with a greater risk of EC and therefore, more likely to benefit from sentinel lymph node (SLN) evaluation.
