摘要
There are multiple intersecting racial disparities in genetic testing, uptake of risk-reducing bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (rrBSO), and access to fertility preservation among women who carry a BRCA mutation. This study was conducted in a minority-majority state where much of the population is rural and/or lives in multi-generational settings. In order to better understand the provision of equitable healthcare related to genetic risk, this qualitative study explored decision making regarding ovarian cancer risk and uptake of rrBSO among Hispanic White, Mexican, Native American, and Black-identified women, as well as experiences of discrimination in a healthcare setting.
