Validation of the skin pain numeric rating scale (NRS) in prurigo nodularis (PN) based on clinical studies of dupilumab in adults with PN

Introduction: Prurigo nodularis (PN) is an inflammatory skin disease characterized by intense itch and skin pain that leads to poor quality-of-life. The skin pain numeric rating scale (Skin Pain-NRS) measures a patient’s worst skin pain over the last 24-hours (scale of 0 [no pain] to 10 [worst pain possible]) and can be used to assess pain-related symptoms in patients with PN. This study evaluated the measurement properties of Skin Pain-NRS in adults with PN uncontrolled on topical therapies.
