摘要

•Fe content is likely the dominant factor controlling sphalerite color.•Besides sphalerite, jamesonite is another important Cd-bearing sulfide in the Jianzhupo deposit.•Cd enters the jamesonite lattice by coupled substitution: 2Fe2+ ↔ Zn2+ + Cd2+.•Deposit genesis can be inferred from the Zn/Cd ratio in jamesonite.
