•FPSE-GC–MS for accurate analysis of pheniramine in postmortem forensic samples.•Proposed method shows great potential in postmortem toxicology sample preparation.•The optimized method was validated according to the SWGTOX guidelines.•Proposed method achieved superior performance to conventional SPE method.•Greenness assessment of the method was achieved using ComplexGAPI and Analytical Eco-Scale.
