Combination of Digital Twins and Artificial Intelligence Sensor-based Robotic Handling

In order to manufacture small batches economically with robot support, the corresponding control programs must be adaptable with little effort. A particular challenge here is the adaption of optical sensors for autonomous recognition and position determination of workpieces, since the algorithms used are usually tailored to specific object and environmental properties. One possible approach is to combine digital twins with artificial intelligence methods in a cyber-physical system to automatically identify new products, determine their position and adapt the robot programs.
