Doping-independent 120 magnetism in the quadruple perovskite CaMn3V4O12

The magnetic structure of high-pressure quadruple perovskite $\mathrm{Ca}{\mathrm{Mn}}_{3}{\mathrm{V}}_{4}{\mathrm{O}}_{12}$ was investigated using neutron powder diffraction data. Below ${T}_{N}=54\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$, the $S=\frac{5}{2} {\mathrm{Mn}}^{2+}$ spins adopt a ${120}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}$ arrangement in kagome layers formed of second nearest neighbor ${A}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ sites. The ${\mathrm{V}}^{4+}$ electrons are itinerant and do not mediate the magnetic interactions as evidenced by the insensitivity of the magnetic structure to the valence of the vanadium cations in $A{\mathrm{Mn}}_{3}{\mathrm{V}}_{4}{\mathrm{O}}_{12}$ ($A={\mathrm{La}}^{3+}, {\mathrm{Ca}}^{2+}$).
