A study on the perception of fall risk, fall related efficacy and fall prevention behavior among elderly using the Comprehensive Nursing Care Services

본 연구는 간호·간병통합서비스병동에 입원한 노인입원환자의 낙상위험지각의 수준 차이에 따른 낙상관련 효능감과 예방행위를 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료 수집은 충청북도 J시, C시에 소재한 5개의 간호·간병통합서 비스병동에 입원한 65세 이상의 노인 환자를 대상으로 2021년 10월 20일부터 12월 30일까지 설문조사한 자료 148부를 SPSS 28.0프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 낙상위험상태 수준과 낙상위험상태지각 수준이 일치하지 않을 경우, 낙상관련 효능감은 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 낙상예방행위는 유의한 차이를 나타났다. 낙상위험상태와 이에 대한 지각의 일치할 때 적합한 낙상예방행위 수행하게 되므로 실제 낙상위험수준과 함께 지각수준을 사정한 후 위험수준에 대한 정확한 인식을 토대로 낙상예방교육을 수행할 필요가 있다. This descriptive research study was undertaken to determine the perception of fall risk, fall-related efficacy, and fall prevention behavior among elderly individuals using the Comprehensive Nursing Care Services. We further endeavored to understand the fall-related efficacy and fall prevention behavior according to the extent of fall risk perception. Data were collected from 148 elderly patients aged 65 years or older, admitted to 5 centers located in J and C cities in the North Chungcheong Province between October 20 and December 30, 2021, and availing the Comprehensive Nursing Care Services. Data were analyzed using SPSS 28.0. Our results revealed that when the levels of fall risk and perception of fall risk were unmatched, there was no significant difference in fall-related efficacy according to fall risk, and the fall-related efficacy remained consistent, However, a significant difference was obtained for fall prevention behavior. Our data also showed that appropriate fall prevention measures were performed when the fall risk and perception of fall risk are well matched. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct fall prevention education based on the accurate recognition of the risk level after assessing the perception level, along with the actual fall risk level.
