摘要
The main malignancies involving the cervix include squamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, the latter with various subtypes. Human papilloma virus (HPV) plays a critical role in the development of both squamous and glandular lesions, at least with respect to the usual type of adenocarcinoma, whereas other variants have less association and a few, including gastric type adenocarcinoma and mesonephric carcinoma, are known to be HPV-independent.
