摘要
Surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy remain the backbone of tumor treatment and require a multidisciplinary approach. Managing the side effects of a tumor and these therapies improves both treatment adherence and quality of life. Supportive care should therefore be integrated into the multidisciplinary tumor treatment plan and ultimately become emphasized when the focus on comfort care is established. Reliable evidence-based guidelines remain yet to be determined for best practice measures for supportive care of neuro-oncology patients. The use of well-tolerated concurrent therapies for symptomatic edema, seizures, and thromboembolic events will help patients and their caregivers so that they may focus on their tumor treatment.
