Neurointerventions on two generations of angiography systems: Recent systems reduce radiation exposure by half

•Air kerma at the reference point (Ka,r) on a new generation of angiography system was 48% of an older reference system.•Air kerma-area product (KAP) on the new system was 50% of the older system.•Substantial decrease in radiation exposure to the patients may also translate to the staff.
