Yield and physical-chemical quality of table olives in different hedgerow canopy positions (cv. Manzanilla de Sevilla and Manzanilla Cacereña) as affected by irradiance

•First report of incident irradiance, yield and quality within table olive hedgerows.•Two table olive cultivars and nine canopy positions in N-S hedgerows were studied.•Positive gradient of irradiance, yield and most physical traits from base to top.•Total sugars, total phenols and phenolic profile were not affected by position.•No remarkable differences between east and west sides of the hedgerow were observed.
