Comparison between ACE and CALIPSO observations of Antarctic polar stratospheric clouds

摘要
•Space-based lidar onboard CALIPSO and Fourier transform instrument on ACE provide complementary measurements of polar stratospheric clouds (PSCs).•Coincident observations for three late winter periods (2016, 2018, and 2019) are analyzed to compare CALIPSO and ACE satellite data.•In general, CALIPSO and ACE agree in their identification of different types of PSCs.•The CALIPSO-ACE comparisons provide valuable insights to improve future satellite-based PSC measurements.
