Population genetics of Artemia urmiana species complex (Crustacea, Anostraca): A group with asymmetrical dispersal and gene flow mediated by migratory waterfowl

•High genetic diversity and differentiation were observed in populations of Artemia urmiana species complex.•Asymmetrical gene flow and an evolutionary source-sink dynamics were founded among populations.•Dispersal of Artemia seems to be biased towards from north to south and/or from higher altitude to lower altitude.
