Abstract
In this paper, the stability problem affected by the signal quantization on the sliding mode (SM) controlled multivariable system are investigated. A class of multivariable systems are given, following the traditional SM controller design without consideration of the signal quantization. Comparatively, the signal quantization imposed by the sampling operation of sensors is taken as an example to investigate, which is located in the feedback channel of the whole closed-loop system. The effect of the quantization mechanism on the transmission signal is given, following the modelling of the signal quantization and the real multivariable system. Furthermore, in the frame of the two-phase trajectory of SM control, the stability is analyzed in the process of the reaching motion and sliding motion, respectively. Simulations validate the proposed approach.
