AbstractThis chapter reflects on how many of the carers in this book prefer not to identify with this label but have had to use it to access appropriate support. The chapter looks at how people have had to adjust to working with paid carers and sharing home space. Co-authors share examples of having to fight to be recognised for their expertise and how this can shape current care and future needs.
