摘要

•Feeling culturally normative emotions is linked to better subjective wellbeing.•We replicated this link in Western and East Asian regions, and extended it to Mediterranean/MENA samples.•Western samples emphasized autonomy-promoting, East-Asian samples relatedness-promoting emotions and situations.•Mediterranean focused on autonomy-promoting emotions, but showed regional variation.
