Research of a high average power G-band pulsed traveling wave tube

摘要
As Terahertz application technology developed, the research for G-band folded waveguide Traveling Wave Tube (FWTWT) requires higher power in a wider band. The design and experiment on G-band pulsed FWTWT was presented, including electronic-optical system and transformed folded waveguide slow wave structure (TFWSWS). By the measurement, the G-band pulsed TFWTWT can reach over 50W maximum output power with 3GHz – 3dB bandwidth at 50% duty cycle. The average output power is 25.7W in 216. $5\text{GHz}$ . The maximum efficiency of all tube is improved above 8.5%.
