Design of 220GHz TE01-TE11 Mode Converter

The mode is very important as a part of high power output system, because the output mode of the gyrotron is usually TEon mode. In this paper, we design a mode converter that transforming TE 01 mode to TE 11 mode. On the basis of iterative method, pattern search algorithm is used to optimize the parameters of the axis function, and a more efficient modal converter is obtained. Pattern search algorithm can optimize the function in the global scope and get more accurate and effective results. Finally, CST is used to verify that the numerical results are in good agreement with the simulation results
