Design and Research of a 150GHz Extended Interaction Oscillator with Sheet Beam Working in High-order Mode

In order to obtain a high-power radiation source in the THz band, this paper designs a 150GHz the extended interaction oscillator (EIO) that works in TM 31 mode, which is driving by a sheet beam. The cold cavity characteristics and thermal cavity results of the designed EIO is calculated by CST The results show that the DC electron injection voltage is 48kV, and the current is 4A. Electronic injection size of 2.00 mm ×0.20mm can be obtained in high order mode TM 31 , 150GHz. Considering material losses, the conductivity is set to 5.8 × 10 7 Sim for copper, output power up to 7.7kW, efficiency is about 4.01%. The designed EIO is of great significance for obtaining terahertz band radiation sources.
