Analysis of a Novel Dual-Three-Phase Dual-Rotor Flux-Switching Permanent Magnet Machine

In this paper, based on the conventional flux-switching permanent magnet (PM) (FSPM) machine, a novel dual-three-phase dual-rotor FSPM (DRFSPM) machine with two magnetizing modes is proposed, called the 6N- DRFSPM and NS-DRFSPM machines, respectively. In order to evaluate the electromagnetic performance of the proposed DRFSPM machines adopted two different magnetizing modes, the topology and operation principle of the 6N- DRFSPM and NS- DRFSPM machine is introduced, and a comparison of the electromagnetic performance of the two proposed DRFSPM machines is conducted by finite-element analysis (FEA), and the FEA-predicted results indicate that the proposed 6N- DRFSPM machine is better than the NS- DRFSPM machine, since it exhibits larger back EMF and average torque, and smaller cogging torque and torque ripple.
