An Unequal Power Divider with Simple Isolation Topology for High Power Ratio and Wide Bandwidth

In this paper, an unequal power divider (PD) with simple isolation topology is presented. It consists of two transmission lines, two normalized $1-\Omega$ resistors, an isolation topology for high power ratio $(k^{2})$ and wide fractional bandwidth (FBW), and three standard normalized $1-\Omega$ ports. By using single short-ended coupled-lines section and single transmission line to combine a general isolation topology (GIT), the wider FBW of $S_{11}$ can be realized when k 2 is high. The detailed design method and the design example are proposed in this paper. Finally, an 8:1 unequal PD with 60% FBW at -20 dB is designed, fabricated and measured for verification, and the measured results agree with the simulation results very well.
