Advanced EM Topology Optimization of the Symmetrical Two-pole Waveguide Filter Using Matrix Dimensionality Reduction Technique

摘要
Electromagnetic (EM) topology optimization is a methodology to optimize the EM response of the microwave component by modifying its topology layout. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is among typical algorithms. Matrix Padé Via Lanczos (MPVL) is often applied to accelerate finite element method (FEM) based EM simulations. This paper has optimized a symmetrical two-pole waveguide filter by an efficient topology optimization with GA. A matrix dimensionality reduction technique is applied to fasten the EM simulation in optimization.
