Modeling the Maximum Feeder Burden Rate with Minimum Data

The feeder burden rate (FBR) is an essential index for distribution network planning and operation. However, estimating an accurate FBR requires an enormous historical data set. This paper proposes a novel probabilistic index feeder burden rate through the peak over threshold (POT) method. With this method, we only require a few extreme load data while being able to provide a reasonable tail distribution of the FBR. The efficacy of the method is verified through the IEEE 33 bus testing system.
