Goos-Hänchen effect for the inelastically scattered spin waves

The lateral shift of a spin-wave beam undergoing inelastic scattering on an edge spin wave propagating along the permalloy film's edge is studied. This effect is a counterpart of the Goos-Hänchen effect for the inelastically scattered wave beams, which has not been demonstrated for spin waves. Scattered beams resulting from both the confluence and stimulated splitting processes are analyzed, and their amplitudes are in the range of several percent of the amplitude of the primary reflected beam. The obtained values of the lateral shifts of the inelastically scattered beams to the incident beam spot could be as large as several wavelengths, which is much bigger than the value of the Goos-Hänchen shift for the reflected beam. We believe our findings are an important contribution to nonlinear magnonics, particularly nonlinear spin-wave optics.
