摘要
Cylindrical metasurfaces are often represented by idealized and homogenized impedance/admittance boundary conditions. However, realizing them with practical metallic patterns has posed challenges. In this paper, we propose a rigorous approach for designing cylindrical metasurfaces that are realizable. A multimodal wave matrix formulation, which accurately describes intercell coupling and accounts for spatial dispersion, is reported. Additionally, a cylindrical extraction technique is adopted to account for the curvature of metasurfaces. As a proof of concept, a practical, coaxially-fed azimuthal mode converter is presented and verified using a commercial full-wave electromagnetic solver.
