University of Calcutta establishing a 475 element Yagi-Uda antenna array of active phased radar system operating at a frequency of 53 MHz. The radar is capable to measure the atmospheric winds in the Troposphere and lower Stratosphere with an altitude range of 20-22 km. The 475 element Yagi antenna has been designed and simulated using MATLAB software. The atmospheric winds are measured by using the radar and initially comparisons are made with Radiosonde wind measurements.
