Research on the Grow and Die of Seabed Gas Hydrate Mound In-situ Monitoring based on MEMS Sensor Network

The micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) sensor network (SN) was proposed to study the grow and die process of seabed gas hydrate mound. The SN consists of horizontal arrays and vertical arrays containing multiple cascaded MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes. The bend and twist of the SN can be obtained through the pitch angle and roll angle of the MEMS sensor node. To reconstruct the three-dimensional shape of the MEMS array, the deformation reconstruction model was presented based on rotation matrix. The offshore tidal flat experiment was conducted in Zhoushan Island and the South China Sea. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed MEMS SN.
