Efficient Second Harmonic Generation in a Si3N4 Microring

We demonstrate efficient second harmonic generation in a silicon nitride microring, through perfect phase matching of a photogalvanic DC-field-induced χ (2) process. The efficiency of 2, 500 %/W is > 100 × larger than the previous record in silicon photonics.
