Microstrip-Photonic Topological Insulators converter

In this paper, a topological converter is designed to achieve efficient transition between traditional microstrip line and Photonic Topological Insulators(PTIs). To realize this, the Bloch impedance of the target PTIs is obtained using a periodic structure impedance extraction method, which serves as a guide in the converter's design process. A comparative analysis with existing conversion structure is performed, revealing that the proposed topological converter exhibits superior coupling performance. The device is fabricated and extensively tested, with excellent agreement between experimental and simulation results observed. These promising results suggest significant potential for practical applications of the designed topological converter in the field of PTIs.
