Parameter Optimization Based on PSO for Equivalent Circuit Model of Injection Probe

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is applied to optimize equivalent circuit model parameters of the injection probe. Different optimization objectives are also given in this paper to suit for various needs. Numerical results showed that primary equivalence circuit as well as two parallel RLC branches make the frequency-dependent impedance close enough to the measured one below 300MHz, which is the frequency band of interest for High-altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP). Deviation of impedance at frequency higher than 300MHz and different optimization results for a given optimization objective are all due to the topology of the equivalence circuit.
