Emerging Trends in Smart Manufacturing: A Bibliometric Analysis

The primary driving force behind the national economy and prosperity is the industrial sector, and its enhanced performance and increased efficiency lead to a sound economy. The emerging manufacturing sector has adopted highly judicious and advanced technological interventions which have resulted in increase in their system's productivity. Such improvement is mainly attributed to the optimized usage of energy by incorporating smart manufacturing (SM) systems and better machine utilization. The current study is based on a brief bibliometric analysis by analyzing 2000 articles from Scopus database. It also facilitates the industry individuals to implement SM for productivity enhancement in the production environment of Industry 4.0.
