A Wideband Transmission Frequency Selective Rasorber based on Multi-layer Meander-Line

In this paper, a novel multi-layer frequency-selective rasorber (FSR) with a wide low-backscattering frequency band is proposed, which is realized through an absorption band at low frequency and a transmission band at high frequency for arbitrary polarization. The FSR is composed of three structures. The bottom layer is a multi-layer frequency-selective surface (FSS), which achieves a higher-order transmission band in the X-band and also serves as metallic ground plate for absorbers. Two circuit analog absorbers are designed to absorb electromagnetic (EM) wave energy at different frequencies by using different meander lines, which can also achieve miniaturization and improve angle stability and expand absorption bandwidth at low-frequency through multiple resonant modes. In the full-wave simulation, it can be observed from the scattering parameter of the FSR that the transmission amplitude is greater than -1 dB from 7.9 to 12 GHz and reflection amplitude is less than -10 dB from 1.2 to 12 GHz under the normal incidence.
