摘要
We investigate the possibility of using the effect of nonlinear compression of superradiance pulse in the process of microwave self-induced transparency (SIT) soliton formation to achieve the sub-gigawatt peak power. The effect of the self-induced transparency takes place during the cyclotron resonance interaction of short microwave pulse with the initially rectilinear electron beam, acting as an absorbing media. In case of interaction with counter-propagating electron beam, when the energy of the initial pulse reaches the certain threshold the peak power of the formed soliton may exceed the power of the initial pulse. However, this method allows the increase of initial peak power less than 4 times without the appearance of the satellite solitons. Thus, we propose using an additional absorbing section to realize the scheme where compressed SIT-soliton will go through the 2-nd stage compression. Simulation show that proposed scheme allows increasing the peak power of W-band superradiant pulse from 100 MW up to 800 MW.
