Network Traffic Capturing in Open-Source 5G Core Network Platform

The growth of 5G technology brings new challenges concerning network architecture and infrastructure. Using Software Defined Networking (SDN) many open-source solutions have been implemented in order to meet these challenges. In this paper, we provide a brief survey of 5G core network open-source solutions. Furthermore, we have selected one of these solutions and set traffic capturing for the purpose of traffic analysis. In the paper, we show the scenario where user device, connected to the base station, is exchanging data through the 5G network core, with the external network. We show that the open source solutions work in line with the corresponding standards and can be used in research and educational purposes.
