Comprehensive Benefit Evaluation of Smart Grid with Pumped-Storage Units

With the rapid development of a high proportion of new energy access, pumped storage as a mature energy storage method has entered a period of rapid development. Aiming at the mismatch between the value contribution of pumped storage and the burden of beneficiaries, this paper classifies the contribution of pumped storage according to the principle of "who benefits, who bears", and focuses on the new energy consumption, peak regulation and frequency regulation in the operation stage. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the auxiliary services contribution were carried out with an actual calculation example in a certain province. The calculation results showed that the main contribution of pumped storage is reflected in the promotion of new energy consumption, accounting for 47%~64% of the total revenue. The larger capacity pumped storage corresponds to the smaller contribution of unit capacity. The introduction of the spot market could increase the pumped storage contribution of unit capacity by up to 13.98%, which had a great guiding significance for the future development of pumped storage.
