Development and Optimization of a Broadside-Coupled Dual-Band Microstrip Bandpass Filter for Wireless Communication Systems

In this article, we present the development and optimization of a dual-band microstrip bandpass filter for frequencies between 2.47 - 2.68 GHz and 5.04-5.29 GHz. Starting with a brief introduction to the field of filtering and wireless communication, we explore numerical modeling using ANSYS HFSS software, followed by practical implementation and measurement of the filter parameters. We detail how changes in geometry, dielectric, and coupling can influence filter performance, and present results by comparing simulated data with experimental results. This article will be useful for engineers and researchers looking to understand and develop efficient filters for wireless applications.
