Optimized Parameter Tuning Method for ADR-based Phase-Locked Loop

Synchronization with the utility grid is a critical method for grid-tied converters. Synchronous reference frame phase-locked loop (SRF-PLL) is employed widely due to the simple control loop. Compared with PI-type loop-filter, active disturbance rejection (ADR)-type loop filter achieves better results under high-frequency grid disturbance condition. However, the parameter tuning process of ADR is usually complicated, which hinders the further development of applications. To this end, an optimized parameter tuning method for ADR-based PLL (ADR-PLL) is proposed. The open-loop cutoff frequency of the ADR-PLL is designed to be dependent on the controller bandwidth of ADR, which greatly simplifies the parameter tuning process. Finally, experimental results are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed optimized parameter tuning method.
