Solving Electromagnetic Scattering from Dielectric Targets Using Surface Integral Equation with MB-CRWG Basis Functions

The combined tangential formulation (CTF) with multi-branch curvilinear Rao-Wilton-Glisson (MB-CRWG) basis function is developed for electromagnetic scattering from dielectric targets. Two surfaces meshed using curvilinear triangles of unequal sizes can be easily connected by setting MB-CRWG basis functions at the junction, which allows more flexible meshing of multiscale dielectric targets. Moreover, since curvilinear triangles are more accurate than planar triangles in modeling curved surfaces, the CTF with MB-CRWG method can shrink the number of unknowns without reducing the precision. The numerical example illustrates the merits of the proposed method.
