Design and Implementation of A Miniature Millimeter Wave Radar System for Multiple Applications

摘要
In this paper, a 77GHz linear frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) miniature millimeter wave radar system is designed and implemented based on the millimeter wave radar sensor chip AWR1843AOP from Texas Instruments (TI). The total power consumption of this radar system is about 1W, and the overall size of the system is 30mm*58mm, which has the advantages of low power consumption, small size and portability. The radar is capable of achieving a 4GHz sweeping bandwidth and a distance resolution of 4cm, and has been applied to scenarios such as tiny vibration detection, gesture recognition, indoor positioning and fall detection, etc. This paper mainly introduces the applications in two of these scenarios, demonstrating that the radar system has important practical significance and wide application potential.
