A miniaturized ultra-wideband antenna with the better notch band

In this paper, a miniaturized ultra-wideband antenna with the better notch band is proposed. Rogers 5880 is used as the dielectric substrate of the antenna, with a thickness of 0.508 mm and a dielectric constant of 2.2. The ultra-wideband performance of the antenna is achieved by etching the circular slot on the bottom of the dielectric substrate. Special branches are added on both sides of the microstrip line on the top of the dielectric substrate to realize the notch characteristics of the antenna. By changing the structures of the branches on both sides of the microstrip line, the antenna can achieve wider notch characteristics. The overall size of the antenna is 25x22x0.508mm 3 , and the operating bandwidth of the antenna is 4.05-11.9GHz. The antenna forms wide notch characteristics between 6.8-7.4 GHz. The maximum gain of the antenna is 4.07dBi. The radiation patterns of the antenna in the working bandwidth is omnidirectional and can transmit and receive signals from all directions. The proposed antenna can be applied in many application fields, such as wireless communication system, Internet of Things, radar, etc.
