A Miniaturized Air-Filled Substrate Integrated Waveguide Self-diplexing Antenna Design

In this article, a novel self-diplexing antenna based on an air-filled substrate-integrated waveguide (AFSIW) is proposed. It has the advantages of compact volume, low loss, lightweight, and ease of integration. This antenna has two feeding points at the bottom of the antenna, working as a self-diplexing antenna. Applying two slots on the top of the substrate with a slightly different shape, it achieves a gain of 1.5dB for 4.53GHz, 4.7dB for 7.4GHz, and 1.04dB for 8.2GHz respectively. Independent frequency tunability of this antenna is exhibited at three operating bands of 4.52-4.54GHz, 7.44-7.41GHz, and 8.17-8.22GHz.
