A 4-Channel Transceiver Array for Indoor Wireless Communication System Based on IEEE 802.11aj Standard

Based on the IEEE 802.11aj standard enhancements for very high throughput to support 45GHz Millimeter Wave Frequency Band, the design of a 4-channel transceiver array for indoor wireless communication system is achieved using the integrated Zero-IF transmitter chips and receiver chips which are independently developed. The RF frequency bandwidth is 42.3-48.4GHz. In order to evaluate the OTA performance between the transmitter array and the receiver array, a quasi-Yagi antenna array using Substrate Integrated Waveguide technique is applied on board. Beam-forming can also be achieved by adjusting the phase of different channels. The differences in phase and amplitude between channels can be eliminated by calibration. At the distance of 50 centimeter, the transmission test results demonstrate great performance of a 64QAM signal with 100Mbaud symbol rate for single-channel transmission.
