摘要
Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a subdomain of Optical Wireless Communication (OWC) that is synchronized by IEEE 802.15.7 and employs the license-free band of 400 THz to 800 THz. VLC is an appreciative Personal Area Network (PAN) short-range wireless communication technology that aims to combine communication with illumination to provide a high data rate. The objectives of the paper are twofold. As a primary objective, this work proposes a novel empirical conceptualization established on regression analysis employing the least square polynomial curve fitting approach to evaluate the optimum number of LEDs required to attain an illuminance in the range of 300-1500 lux within a distance of 0.25 m to 1.5 m distance between the transmitter and receiver by integrating factors of distance and illuminance. The second part involves the experimental implementation of an indoor visible light communication system to evaluate the received power, quality factor and Bit Error Rate (BER) using VLHW5100, VAOL-3GWY4 and VAOL-5701WY4 by using the evaluated number of LEDs from objective one. The quality factor and BER are evaluated for a distance of 50 cm at a maximum data rate of 1.2 Mbps.
