Device identification in BLE packets from moving devices with randomized MAC addresses

In recent years, IoT devices and smartphones that communicate with low power consumption Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) have become widespread. In such devices, since MAC addresses are often randomized at an interval, it is difficult to identify the same device from packets observed over a period of time. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the same device in an environment where device moves. As a result of the evaluation, we confirmed that our proposed method can identify a device with an accuracy of up to 94 % when the number of devices is 20.
