SoSModeling: Comprehend Software Systems by Modeling it as a System of Systems (SoS).

SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) application software products have become ubiquitous over the last decade. These are complex software systems from a design, creation and comprehension perspective. In this research, we are proposing a new way of comprehending these software systems -- learners model the product as System of Systems (SoS) using transition systems vocabulary and refine the model when new information is available. This research aims to produce four types of artefacts: 1) a vocabulary for modeling software systems, 2) a procedure for modeling System of Systems, 3) a repository of architecture patterns modeled as systems, and 4) a pedagogy to teach courses on software system comprehension.
