•The αVβ3 integrin promotes neuroendocrine prostate cancer growth in vivo.•NgR2, a receptor associated with the αVβ3 integrin, promotes in vitro adhesion of prostate cancer cells to αVβ3 ligands.•Small extracellular vesicles from prostate cancer patients express αVβ3 and NgR2.•Small extracellular vesicles from prostate cancer patients support a highly adhesive but not polarized monocyte phenotype.
